Braywick Plant Nurseries and Garden Centre

We are a not-for-profit organisation in Maidenhead which grows and sells plants, plus other garden-related products. We also provide grounds and amenity garden maintenance.

We hope for a world which recognises people for their abilities rather than their disabilities.

Our mission is to develop and showcase the talents of people who are autistic, neurodiverse or have learning disabilities through work experience, skills, training and other opportunities.

We seek to deliver our mission through providing work-related experience, volunteering, skills and training for people with learning disabilities or autism. Our small team of employees work alongside community volunteers and supported adult volunteers.

We are proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and have provided support and experiences to more than 1,000 people since we opened in 1997.

 Business update 18th December 2025

For 29 years Braywick Heath Nurseries has been dedicated to growing plants and growing people, providing horticultural opportunities for people who are autistic or have learning disabilities.

In autumn 2025, it was announced that the business was due to close at the end of December 2025, as described in local Maidenhead and BBC News press:

The Directors of BPN have been, and are still in conversations with local organisations, to see if a new business plan can be developed.

Whilst planning takes place, the shop will now be open during January 2026, from Friday to Sunday for usual trading.
